Millog and Flexotrap Partnership Supports the Development of Shooting Ranges and Training Facilities Across the Nordic and Baltic Region

Shooting ranges play an important role in maintaining proficiency among law enforcement personnel, reservists and civilian shooters while contributing to broader societal preparedness. Through their partnership, Millog and Flexotrap are combining their expertise to support sustainable and effective shooting range operations and to help meet growing demand for new and upgraded training facilities.

Millog and Flexotrap, the Swedish manufacturer of modular and deployable bullet trap systems, have entered into an non-exclusive partnership under which Millog will serve as a distributor of Flexotrap products in Finland, Norway, Denmark and the Baltic States, as well as an authorised maintenance partner throughout the Nordic and Baltic region.

The partnership aims to support the growing need for shooting range capacity and modern training infrastructure while promoting safe, effective and sustainable shooting training for military, law enforcement and civilian users.

Shooting Ranges Are Part of Overall Preparedness

Shooting ranges are a vital part of training for public authorities, reservists, voluntary defence organisations, hunting associations, sport shooters and recreational shooting enthusiasts. They help maintain and develop skills that play an important role in broader preparedness, resilience and total defence. At the same time, the number of civilian shooting ranges has declined significantly in both Finland and Sweden. In response to changes in the security environment, policymakers in both countries have highlighted the need to safeguard existing shooting facilities and support the development of new ones.

Together with Millog, we can make our solutions available to a broader customer base and support users throughout the entire lifecycle of the system.

Flexotrap provides a flexible solution for a wide range of operational requirements. Designed for permanent, temporary and deployable shooting environments, the system can be used on both indoor and outdoor ranges throughout the year. Its modular construction enables operators to increase shooting range capacity, expand training facilities and adapt to changing operational requirements, available training areas, and applicable permitting frameworks.

In addition to individual modules, Flexotrap offers self-supporting container-based shooting range facilities that enable shooting activities without the need for earth berms or other rear shielding. This allows facilities to be established rapidly without extensive earthworks.

A Modular Solution for Flexible Training Requirements

Flexotrap systems are engineered for durability, wear resistance and reliable performance in demanding operating conditions. Particular attention has been given to environmental and safety considerations, both of which are becoming increasingly important in the planning and operation of shooting facilities.

Projectile material and lead residues are controlled and collected at the point of impact, reducing environmental impact, and enabling controlled recycling and material recovery. Where operational requirements change, facilities can also be relocated and reconfigured with limited environmental impact.

Reliability and Support Throughout the Lifecycle

As a defence maintenance and lifecycle support specialist, Millog sees supporting shooting range infrastructure as a natural extension of its existing products and services. In addition to distribution, Millog can support customers with installation and maintenance services throughout the entire lifecycle of the system.

“Flexotrap solutions provide law enforcement, military and civilian users with new opportunities to increase shooting range capacity and expand training facilities safely and cost-effectively,” explains Toni Piispa, Vice President of Millog’s Authorities and Industry business unit.

“Across the Nordic and Baltic region, organisations are looking for solutions that can support growing shooting range and training requirements while meeting increasingly stringent environmental and safety standards. Meeting that demand requires more than delivering systems, it also requires a strong, customer-focused structure for installation, maintenance and long-term support. Together with Millog, we can make our solutions available to a broader customer base and support users throughout the entire lifecycle of the system,” says Elias Mibesjö, Chief Executive Officer of Flexotrap.
