Join us in Define Hackathon on September 2024 and innovate dual-use technologies

Millog, the Finnish Defence Forces and the Define network organize the Define Hackathon, which innovates dual-use technologies and aims to create solutions that serve both the defence and civilian sectors. Gather a team and let’s hack for a safer and smarter world!

Millog, in collaboration with the Finnish Defence Forces and the Define network, is excited to announce the upcoming Define Hackathon powered by Millog. The 48-hour event is dedicated to exploring the dual use of everyday devices in both civil and defence applications. The competition will take place from September 26th to 28th, 2024, in Riihimäki, Finland.

In the hackathon, teams will work on tasks related to cybersecurity solutions, disaster response systems, unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and autonomic systems, communication networks, and the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning for threat detection.

We want to challenge teams to repurpose common civilian technologies to address the needs of both defence and nondefense sectors. By fostering innovative solutions that bridge the gap between military and civilian applications, we can create versatile technologies that can benefit a wide range of scenarios.

We invite all students, young military personnel, companies, and teams formed by various collectives to join us in this exciting hackathon. Registration for the Define Hackathon is now open until September 15, 2024. The event is organized together with Ultrahack.

Led by the city of Riihimäki, Defence Innovation Network Finland (Define) aims to connect the defence and civilian sectors with educational institutions to foster new innovations and create high-skilled jobs. Millog is a partner of the network and a member of the network’s steering group. www.definefinland.fi
